Big & Gentle Community Yoga 5-week series

$68.00

Five Thursdays from 6:00-7:15pm CT Jan 22-Feb 19, 2026

Location: Virtual*

Class Length: 75 minutes

Class Style: Gentle yoga with active and restorative asana (poses), breath work, and meditations focused on fat liberation

Who is it for: All body sizes, all genders welcome. This class is good for any level of yoga student with some familiarity to yoga.

Let’s get together to cultivate community and gentle movement in these cold and darker months. We’ll come together virtually in real time for community and conversation bookending some gentle, supportive yoga. We’ll gather for approximately 15 minutes before and after guided yoga (45 min) to meet each other, build community, and make new friends who love yoga and fat community!

The yoga portion will be slow flow (mix of seated and standing) and some longer restorative poses. If you are familiar with seated options, you are welcome to modify it for a fully seated practice. If you are brand new to yoga and want seated yoga, this class will not be cueing for those options during the standing portion. This practice is designed for folks looking for a slow, intentional, and restful practice. It is perfect for folks who have not had much movement in their life recently, who are brand new to yoga, and/or are looking for a slower, mindful practice.

This 5-week series is designed for people of all sizes looking to practice yoga in a fat positive atmosphere. The class fee covers five 75-minute live classes and recordings of the yoga portion (approximately 45 min). Reduced price and scholarships are available - apply here to arrange. Class is open to all genders and all sizes. We aim to be an anti-racist, fat positive, and gender-affirming space.

What to have for class: Since this class is virtual, you provide your own props and mat. I have some props available to borrow through porch pick up in south Minneapolis. Props used in this class: mat (highly recommend this investment, my favorite mat is one of the more affordable ones), blocks (recommend 2), strap, bolster, chair (preferably no arms, I like to use a sturdy folding chair, but dining room chairs often work great). You can also make props from a lot of household items.

More information on Rad Fat Yoga Classes can be found in our Frequently Asked Questions.

*We encourage you to plan to attend the live version of this class as it is focused on community and connection, but we will record the practice portion of class (the community conversations will not be recorded to protect privacy) and send out links after each class. Recordings will be available until one week after the final class.

Late Registrations: If you register within 30 minutes of class start time, you may not receive the link for that night. If you register after the class start date, you will receive the recorded links for all prior classes and links to join future live sessions (and recordings).

Refunds and cancellations: As a nonprofit, we aim to keep our fees accessible while also supporting scholarships and reduced rates. Because of this, we cannot offer full or partial refunds on or after the first day of class. Course fees make our work building fat community and advocating for fat health possible - thank you for supporting Rad Health!
