Jess Carter Spirit Scholarship

We established the Jess Carter Spirit Scholarship to honor Rad Fat Camper, Jess Carter. Jess was a wildly vibrant part of our community and attended the inaugural fat camp in 2019. In 2024, Jess passed away. Her presence is irreplaceable at camp and in the world, but her impact and memory will not be forgotten. Jess brought her whole self to everything she did, she brightened every space she was part of, and she deeply loved her communities. She was passionate about social justice and embodied compassion, community, and love. We hope to honor her memory at camp through this scholarship.

We are committed to providing a minimum of 10% of Fat Camp spots as scholarships to reach as many people as we can. Additional donations and sponsors make even more scholarships possible. Scholarship applications are open from Friday, April 10 until Sunday, May 10, 2026.
