Welcome to Rad Fat Adventure Camp!
We are so excited to see so many campers excited to experience a camp that centers fat people, in a truly fat positive and empowering way! Let’s get ready to be in community and nature together.
By registering for and attending camp, you are agreeing to follow our camp rules and guidelines. You will be asked to sign a waiver for Radical Health Alliance and for Camp Courage upon arrival in order to participate in camp. Please review these documents before arriving at camp.
Camp Location & Directions
We have confirmed or arranged the following accessibility measures. If you have additional requests or concerns, please contact us at email@example.com.
All-gender bathrooms every where possible: this include all lodging and most meeting spaces. There are a few spaces we will be sharing with other groups on site and will not be able to make into all gender restrooms, including the dining hall. However, all gender bathrooms will always be near by in our exclusive meeting spaces.
Kitchenettes are in all lodging cabins. Refrigerator space will be priority for folks with dietary needs requiring they make their own meals, milk storage for those pumping, and storage for any medications requiring refrigeration.
All campers have lower bunk beds available. There are some upper bunks available, and campers are welcome to use them, however we have not included upper bunks in our tallies. Mattresses are twin-size Tempur-Pedic.
Every bed has an outlet next to it for CPAPs.
The kitchen will be preparing gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegetarian options for all those who have requested those options; as well as catering to all allergies requested.
Designated chest-feeding location.
All buildings are ADA accessible with paved paths between all buildings, elevators or ramps between floors and/or main level entrances.
Showers in lakeside cabins are roll in entrances.
Most sessions are located only a couple minutes walk away from each other. One location is around 5 minute walk from the main location.
NOTE: cabins are not locked during the day. Please keep your valuables with you or bring some way of locking up your valuables.
Clothing appropriate for the activities you plan to participate in (e.g. swim suit, clothes for movement classes, shoes for hiking) and for the weather! Minnesota in September can be very fickle. Be prepared for rain, chilly weather, and warm weather. Layers work well for moving between indoor and outdoor activities.
Bedding if you didn’t pay for linens on site. You can bring sleeping bags or sheets and blankets (twin size mattresses). Don’t forget a pillow, too!
Ear plugs/headphones & eye mask (we are sleeping in shared spaces!)
Flashlight / lantern
Talent show costumes/props/instruments
Yoga mat & props (we will have enough for 12 participants, but if more people participate, it will be good to have your own!)
Snacks in sealed containers
Cash for snacks in the Camp Courage Camp Store - only open during Saturday 2:30-4:00pm free time
